Student Data Privacy

Many resources used by our teachers involve the use of Internet-based services. These engaging products are important tools loved by our teachers and students. When evaluating and selecting these tools, we are commited to ensuring that our students' data is protected. The Student Privacy Pledge is provided to K-12 digital service providers by the Future of Privacy Forum and the Software Information Industry Association. 

GoogleApps  for Education

All students are given a Wooster City Schools Google Education Account that gives them access to GMail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and other services to be used for educational purposes. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's Google account activity, please contact the building principal.

Technology Curriculum

Students in Grades K-6 learn technology skills and safety in both library technology time and during 5th and 6th grade computer class. The two documents below show the state technology and computer science standards addressed during these lessons. Sources for the lessons are also included.

Resources for Parents

Parenting in the 21st Century can be challenging. We encourage parents to educate themselves on the devices and apps that their children are using. By staying informed and having meaningful conversations with your children you will hopefully learn to appreciate some of the great things about today's technology instead of being afrai of it! Here are some resources to help:

  • Smart Social by Josh Ochs - 2019 social media safety presenter at WHS & Edgewood Josh Ochs offers parents great advice on social media
