School Closings/School Hours

School Closing Information:

Student safety will always be the highest priority when making school closing decisions.  The district also recognizes that delays and cancellations can cause an inconvenience for families. Therefore, we will attempt to communicate any changes as early as possible. Ideally, the decision to delay or cancel school will be made by 6:00 AM on the day of the closure. Occasionally, the decision may be made the night before if warranted by weather conditions and forecast.

In case of any weather related issues, the district will use the following forms of communication with families:

*Cleveland TV stations 3, 5, and 8

*District-wide text, email, and phone calls

*Facebook page: Wooster City School District

*Twitter (X): @woostercsd

*Instagram: woostercsd

*District Webpage: www.woostercityschools.org

*Constant Contact Email Alerts

Please note: Wooster Radio (WQKT 104.5 FM) - Beginning May 1, 2024, WQKT will become The River, headed by River Radio Ministries out of Columbus, and will no longer offer school closings or delays.

If there is a two-hour delay, the district bus and school schedules will be pushed back by two hours from the typical start times.

In the event of a two-hour delay:

*AM Preschool will be canceled.

*PM Preschool bus routes will run at their normal times.

*PM Preschool students will attend class at the normal time.

Individuals involved in extracurricular activitities and sports will be contacted by their advisor or coach with details of the impact on their schedule.
