Cornerstone Elementary Welcomes New Administrative Intern

July 17, 2014 – The Wooster City School District has announced the hiring of Kaylee Early as a new administrative intern for Cornerstone Elementary. Early joins Cornerstone, having previously taught second and third grade in the district since 2010.


OAA Family Reports


Parents whose children were in grades 3-8 for the 2013 - 2014 school year, may now pick up their child's OAA Family Report (scores) at the Wooster City School District Central Office (144 N. Market Street) from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 6, the reports may be picked up at your child's school he/she will be attending the 2014 - 2015 school year.

Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2014

Is your child going to be five by September 30th? If you have not already registered your child to attend kindergarten this fall, please call 330.988.1111 ext. 1241 to make an appointment.

Beach Bags Offer Fun Reading Activities for Summer


"Beach Bags" give parents an easy way to keep their children's reading skills sharp with fun summer activities arranged around five themes: weatherpetstransportationfood, and neighborhoods. Each downloadable Beach Bag includes two free "little books" you can print out at home, two related activities, a list of classic picture books for further reading, and suggested websites to explore. Beach Bags are offered free to all Ohio families by INFOhio and the Ohio Department of Education.

Take the night off from cooking and order from Domino's   Cornerstone receives 10% of the profits for the day.  Look for "Domino dough night dates" next school year  2014-2015.  Thanks for your support!

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures


7:00 - Students participating in Before School Program

8:45 - ALL students may begin to arrive to playground or breakfast.

9:00 - Students will be led by homeroom teacher into building

Walker Dismissal Procedures

Effective 2014-15 School Year

Safety is always a main concern at Cornerstone.  The below are procedures that we use for walker dismissal at our building.

1.    All parents must stay behind the marked area in front of the steps so students may exit the building quickly and orderly.

Cornerstone Safety

1. All exterior doors, including front entrances, will be locked at all times.  A doorbell system has been installed for visitors to either call or ring for staff to allow them in the building.
