Chess Champions!

Congratulations to the Wooster High School Chess Club which placed ahead of STEM and Revere to take first place in a chess tournament in Mogadore recently.  Playing for Wooster were William Snyder, Chad Courtemanche, David Cheng, and Connor Stermer. The WHS Chess Club advisor is Dr. Dennis Helmuth. Great job, chess team!

The General Store is Now Open!

The Wooster High School Student Government is proud to announce the opening of The General Store. It is our hope that this will be the new center of school spirit at WHS, and will provide a place for students, staff, faculty and the community to access General pride-wear at a reasonable rate.

Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Civic Education Initiatives’ Clinic-Based programs give Northeast Ohio middle and high school students the opportunity to learn and work alongside world-renowned caregivers at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, Regional Hospitals, and Family Health Centers.

Wooster-opoly is Here!

Looking for a great gift idea? Kiwanis International of Wooster is selling Wooster-opoly! For your convenience it's available in the Main Office of Wooster High School and the cost of each game is $25.

Senior Yearbook Photo

WHS Class of 2015: If you would like your senior photo to appear in the 2014-15 Yearbook, your photo (preferably a head/shoulders shot) is due to the Main Office by Friday, January 9, 2015. Please include an additional photo that we will send to the Daily Record for the Senior Class insert. If your photo is in .jpeg format, it can be sent directly to Mr.

Student Arrival and Dismissal

Starting Monday, October 20, we will make a small change to the drop off procedure for our students. Most buses will drop off behind the school which will help alleviate overcrowding in the front of the school. Please drop students off at the High School between 7:20 and 7:35.  Please stay in line and do not cut in front of others or buses for the safety of all our students and parents.


2013-14 Yearbooks

The 2013-14 Yearbooks are now available in the Main Office! There are also a few extra copies available for sale if you did not pre-order one. The cost is $60, cash or check payable to WHS Yearbook. The Main Office is open from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Class of 2015 Diploma List

Class of 2015:  Beginning on November 17-25, a list will be posted outside of the guidance department with your first, middle, & last name. Please check the list during the days listed to ensure accuracy.  This is how your name will appear on your diploma in June.

Luminary Kits for Sale

Go Generals!

In an effort to increase school spirit and pride, WHS participated in an all-school lip dub on October 24, 2014.  A lip dub is a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song.

Academic Challenge Team

The Academic Challenge team traveled to WEWS Channel 5 to compete against Marion L.

All-Ohio Choral Day

Saturday, November 1st, Choir Director Emily Patterson traveled with four Concert Choir singers to Ohio Northern University for their All-Ohio Choral Day. This is an event where select students from all over Ohio gather for an all day long rehearsal and evening concert.

WHS Bell Schedules can be seen by clicking here. Most often we will be following the Regular Schedule #1. Occastionally a special activity requires that we use a different bell schedule.

Bus Schedule for Career Center

Club and Activities

There are many Clubs and Activities available for students at WHS. The complete list may be found on page 35 of the Student/Parent Handbook, located here.

Attendance Procedures

If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please contact the WHS attendance office at 330-988-1111 ext. 3011 prior to 9:00am.  Please leave the date, name of the student, & reason for absence.  The attendance line is available 24 hours per day.  We try  our best to have the most accurate records that we can, so we are hoping that you can help out with this.

School Fees

School fees may be paid in the school office or mailed to WHS, 515 Oldman Road, Wooster, OH  44691, Attn: Diane Lepley. For your added convenience, school fees may also be paid online by clicking on the Pay For It Online link at www.woostercityschools.org/hs.

Generals Items for Sale

We have Cat's Meow items for sale. We have a high school building for $13.00 and the General for $9.00. These can be purchased during regular office hours at the main office of the high school.


SAT and ACT Practice Tests Available Online

The ACT and SAT test times are fast approaching. To help students prepare, you can send them to INFOhio’s Learning Express Library for free practice tests, not only for the ACT and SAT, but also for many advanced placement tests.
