High School News
Starting Monday, October 20, we will make a small change to the drop off procedure for our students. Most buses will drop off behind the school which will help alleviate overcrowding in the front of the school. Please drop students off at the High School between 7:20 and 7:35. Please stay in line and do not cut in front of others or buses for the safety of all our students and parents.
This year Wooster City Schools will be participating in a program to provide flu vaccines to all consented students as well as staff members. The program is conducted by Health Heroes and their goal is to provide flu vaccines to all consented children regardless of their ability to pay.

If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please contact the WHS attendance office at 330-988-1111 ext. 3011 prior to 9:00am. Please leave the date, name of the student, & reason for absence. The attendance line is available 24 hours per day. We try our best to have the most accurate records that we can, so we are hoping that you can help out with this.

CONGRATULATIONS to Stephanie Haught for having a piece of artwork selected in this years Governor's Youth Art Exhibit! Her piece is one of the TOP 350 in the entire state of Ohio! When you have a chance, give her a high five or fist bump for this AMAZING accomplishment! Her work will be on display at the James A.
Congratulations to Veronica Velasquez, WHS 8th Grader, and Coach Erica Mihoci. Veronica qualified to the Regional Spelling Bee and was a winner (1 of 4) in the Wayne County Spelling Bee.
Wooster High School junior David Burnett was selected as one of six tuba players from throughout the state of Ohio to perform in the Ohio Music Education Association All State Band. Acceptance into the ensemble was as a result of a taped audition. After arriving at the first of two days of rehearsal, all high school musicians auditioned again for seating.
Six Wooster High School Students competed in the JA Business Challenge at Akron University on Friday, March 21, 2014. Congratulations to the one team on winning the JA Business Challenge out 8 school districts and 16 teams.
We have Cat's Meow items for sale. We have a high school building for $13.00 and the General for $9.00. These can be purchased during regular office hours at the main office of the high school.
The ACT and SAT test times are fast approaching. To help students prepare, you can send them to INFOhio’s Learning Express Library for free practice tests, not only for the ACT and SAT, but also for many advanced placement tests.
Students in grades 9-12 can register to take the ACT during the school day on September 30. There is limited seating and students need to register in the guidance office starting August 25. Cost for the test is $38. Please see attached flier or contact the guidance office for further details.
The Wayne County Counselors' Association College Fair will be held at Wooster High School, Monday, September 29, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Representatives from over 90 colleges, universities, technical schools and military branches will be available to pass out information and speak to students and parents about their institution.
