Domino's Dough Night: Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14th, is our final Domino's Dough Night of the school year! Call or go online using code DN6 and Domino's will donate 20% of your order total to Kean's PTO! Thank you for your support this school year!

MRA Survey: As part of our Leader in Me initiative, we ask our Kean families to take a yearly MRA (Measurable Results Assessment) Survey to provide feedback on how we are doing in the areas of leadership, culture, and academics at our school. Please take a moment to complete this year's MRA Survey. The survey will be open through May 24th. Thank you so much for your participation.

Two Events, One Day: You are invited to join us for two special events in one day on May 20th! First, join our Community Leadership Rally from 9:45-10:15 AM at the Wooster High School PAC. Please enter through the front doors of WHS to sign in. Doors open at 9:15 AM. You will get to see the magic of student leadership take place from start to finish! We are excited to shine a spotlight on all the wonderful things that happen at our typical monthly Leadership Rallies. At the conclusion of the Leadership Rally, we will walk from the High School to Kean Elementary for our annual Author Celebration from 10:45-11:15. Guests will meet student leaders at the playground blacktop and will line up according to your child's class. Author celebrations will take place in your child's classroom. This is a time for students to celebrate their published writing pieces with you! Please feel free to join us for one or both of these special events! RSVP to Mrs. Schmid in the office by Wednesday, May 15th. *We expect to have a large turnout for these events. Overflow parking will be at the high school.

Right to Read Week: This year's Right to Read Week is the final week of school, May 20th-24th. Our theme is Camp Read-A-Lot and our students will be participating in many fun reading and literacy activities! See Spirit Week details below.

Monday, 5/20- Wear Animal Print, Spots, Stripes, or a Picture of an Animal

Tuesday, 5/21- Wear Yellow or Something with Stars on It

Wednesday, 5/22- Hat Day

Thursday, 5/23- Swim Day (Remember to wear your swim gear and pack underwear, a towel, and a bag for wet clothes.)

Friday, 5/24- Wear Wooster Gear

Swim Day: Our students are working hard to reach their goal and earn 100,000 blue and gold tallies! To celebrate reaching this goal, we are planning a Kean Swim Day on May 23rd. Each grade level will swim at the Gault for 45 minutes. Students are to wear their bathing suits to school and pack underwear, a towel, a water bottle, and a bag for wet items.

4th Grade Events: Families of 4th-grade students are invited to join us on Friday, May 24th at 10:00 AM for our 4th-Grade Awards Ceremony. Bring a camping chair and meet us at the pavilion behind Kean. All 4th-grade students will receive awards to celebrate the end of their elementary years. Also on May 24th, please join us for our traditional 4th-Grade Clap Out. Meet us on the blacktop, making two lines to form a tunnel from the west doors to cheer on our 4th-grade students as they exit Kean on their final day of elementary school. *Please let Mrs. Schmid know if you plan to dismiss your child with you after the Clap Out.

General of the Month Signs: If your child has been a General of the Month this school year (September through February) it is time to return your yard sign! We love celebrating our students each month and would love to be able to continue to have signs for our April and May Generals of the Month. We currently don't have enough to make it through the end of the school year and are counting on our past students to share with our current and future Generals of the Month. Thank you!

Lost and Found: Please encourage your child to check out our Lost and Found! We have several unclaimed items waiting to be taken home. Any items left at the conclusion of the school year will be donated.

Christmas Run Congestion: If you pick up your child from Kean as a walker and park your car along the Skylark/Christmas Run neighborhood, please be courteous and considerate of the residents of that neighborhood. Please do not block driveways and be mindful of congestion during drop-off and dismissal times. Safety is our number one priority. Thank you for your help.

Change in Dismissal Plans: If you ever need to change the dismissal plan for your child, please contact your child's teacher and Mrs. Schmid before 3:00 PM of that day. Any notifications to the school after 3:00 PM are not guaranteed to be reflected in that day's dismissal procedures.

Safety: To ensure the safety of our students and staff, please do not let others into the building after being buzzed in the front door. Do not hold the door for the person behind you to let them enter the building. Each individual visitor must buzz in and be granted entry by our secretary. Thank you for your cooperation.

Free/Reduced Lunch: If you believe your family may qualify for Free/Reduced lunch rates, please visit the website linked below to apply. A new application must be completed each school year, one per family. Filling out an application helps us with funding and future planning. A reduced breakfast is $0.30 and a reduced lunch is $0.40. Apply online or contact Mrs. Montgomery or Mrs. Schmid if you would like to receive a paper application. www.payschoolscentral.com
