Transportation

The Transportation Department and its employees are dedicated to the safety and well being of all children attending the Wooster City School District system. Each student is valuable to all of us and as such will be treated with respect and dignity. We have committed ourselves as the Transportation Department to ensure that each child be given a safe trip to school in the morning and a safe return home at the end of the day.

How to add to Busing

We value all of our district families and are continually working to communicate all processes and procedures for out department. If you have any questions do not hesitate to email our Secretary or Supervisor who would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the process and procedures put in place.

Did You Know Wooster City School District: services 17 Schools within our district and outside our district boundaries.  We utilize 26 school buses, 2 micro buses & 6 vans making up 136 different routes.  Our drivers make an accumulative 704 Stop Locations per day and drive a total of 3007.83 miles each day.

Ensure Safety by Stopping for Buses With Red Flashing Lights

In Ohio, drivers must stop at least 10 feet from a school bus when its red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, regardless of direction, unless the road has four or more lanes—in that case, only traffic going the same direction must stop. Failing to stop can result in fines up to $1,000, mandatory court appearances, and possible license suspension. New laws, including House Bill 3, have increased penalties and allow camera footage to support violations, though not issue tickets automatically. These rules are in place to protect students getting on and off the bus and are strictly enforced. Each school bus in our fleet is equipped with 8 cameras. 5 interior cameras, 1 dash camera, and 2 on the stop sign. We use the cameras to assist us in reporting red stop arm violations to the Wooster Police Department. The Wooster Police Department has issued multiple citations to drivers that have run the red flashing lights.   Please help spread the word on how important it is to stop for the red lights on a school bus.
