Middle School News
It is time for our track season. The official start date is Monday, March 10th, from 3:20-5:00. You must have your Emergency Medical Form, current physical, clothes for the weather and running shoes for this practice. Be sure to dress for the weather and meet in the gym at 3:30. We hope to see you there!
A theater workshop will be beginning at Edgewood. If you enjoy the theater and drama, this is for you! The workshop will be held for 6-weeks starting on Wednesday, March 12th after school until 4:30. Information and the registration forms are available here, or in the school office.
Edgewood's Family Carnival and Rock The House is coming March 21st from 5:30-8 PM. Everyone is welcome! The cost is $10 for unlimited use of Rock The House and carnival games. Tickets will be sold at the door starting at 5:15. There will be food, karaoke, hair spray, speed pitch, beat the dealer, plinko, and much, much more! We hope to see you there!
On Saturday, March 22, 2014, the 16th Annual Wooster City Schools Fine Arts Festival will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commons area and Performing Arts Center at Wooster High School. The festival is free and open to the public.
The Edgewood PTO meets in the library. All parents are welcome to attend, and get involved with the PTO. The final meeting of this year is on May 8th at 6:30. We hope to see you there!!
Wooster Summer Fastpitch Inc. has been established to support and promote girls' fastpitch softball in our community. Registration has begun. If you click here, you can get information about the season, and the registration form. They will take registrations until April 1st.
The College of Wooster Buckeye Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (B-Wiser) summer camp for girls (a partnership of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation and College of Wooster) will be held from June 8-13, 2014 at the College. This team-taught, hands-on science experience is open to girls who will complete 7th grade this academic year.
Everyone is welcome to join Student Council! The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 20 at 7:30am in the cafeteria. We will be discussing suggested games and activities for the Carnival/ Rock the House event on Friday, March 21. Come share a new idea! All families are invited to attend that event! Everyone had so much last year! It is definitely a night to not miss!

If you like math, this may be for you. The 5th Grade Math 24 Club will meet on Fridays during their exploratory period at school. It will held in Ms. Masaro's room. Please see her if you have any questions. The 6th Grade Math 24 Club will meet on Mondays and Fridays during exploratory in Room 313 with Mrs. Fenton.
Do you like writing stories? If you are in the 5th grade, a Writing Club will meet on Thursdays during exploratory in Room 112. The 6th Grade will be meet on Wednesdays during exploratory in Room 313. Please bring a pencil and notebook.
A Singing Club is beginning the week of September 16. If you enjoy singing and performing for others, you may interested in joining. The 5th Graders will sing on Thursdays and Fridays from 1-1:34. The 6th Graders will sing on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Boys & Girls Club of Wooster has begun at Edgewood Middle School. The club is a fun, safe environment for your 5th, 6th, or 7th grader to spend their after school hours.

If your family is interested in participating in General's Club during the 2013-14 school year, please contact your school.
A Parent Portal has been created - this is used by families to add/change/delete numbers in our outbound calling system. This was demonstrated at the last All-City PTO and went over well. Please review the flyer and/or view the Communications tab on the district web page for more information.
An additional dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis immunization) is recommended for 11 and 12 year olds and required, by law, for all students entering 7th grade. This proof is needed at or before Fall registration!!!
