The Ohio Department of Education revised the schedule for the Ohio Achievement Assessments. These are the updated dates that OAA testing will occur this spring. Please avoid student absences if possible during their testing dates. Thank you!
Calling all cheerleaders! If you are interested in being a 7th Grade or 8th Grade cheerleader next school year, this information is for you. There will be cheer clinics on May 19, May 20, and May 22 from 4:30-6:30. The tryouts will be on May 23rd from 5-9 pm. This is for our current students in grades 6 and 7.
The Edgewood PTO meets in the library. All parents are welcome to attend, and get involved with the PTO. The final meeting of this year is on May 8th at 6:30. We hope to see you there!!
Everyone is welcome to join Student Council! The next meeting will be on Monday, May 5th, weather permitting. We will be beautifying the school by planting flowers and mulching the front yars. This will be afterschool until 4:15.
Congratulations to our 6th grader, Sophia, who represented Edgewood in the state competition of the National Geographic Geography Bee in Columbus. She finished 13th out of 100 patricipants, and was the top female competitior in Ohio. We are proud of her efforts!
Congratulations to our State Qualifiers. There are 9 participants from Wooster. We wish our seventh graders, Lindsay K. and Lauren N., the best of luck. The competition is on May 23rd.
The Math 24 tournament was held at Edgewood on March 18th. The fifth grade winners were William S. in first place, Brandon K. in second place, and Brady M. was in third place. In the sixth grade, Elijah H. placed first, Madison D. placed second, and Brianna O. placed third. Congratulations to all of our winners!
Do you like writing stories? If you are in the 5th grade, a Writing Club will meet on Thursdays during exploratory in Room 112. The 6th Grade will be meet on Wednesdays during exploratory in Room 313. Please bring a pencil and notebook.
A Singing Club is beginning the week of September 16. If you enjoy singing and performing for others, you may interested in joining. The 5th Graders will sing on Thursdays and Fridays from 1-1:34. The 6th Graders will sing on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Boys & Girls Club of Wooster has begun at Edgewood Middle School. The club is a fun, safe environment for your 5th, 6th, or 7th grader to spend their after school hours.

If your family is interested in participating in General's Club during the 2013-14 school year, please contact your school.
A Parent Portal has been created - this is used by families to add/change/delete numbers in our outbound calling system. This was demonstrated at the last All-City PTO and went over well. Please review the flyer and/or view the Communications tab on the district web page for more information.
An additional dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis immunization) is recommended for 11 and 12 year olds and required, by law, for all students entering 7th grade. This proof is needed at or before Fall registration!!!
