2013-2014 Preschool and Kindergarten Registration Information
Preschool Registration
On Feb. 1, the Wooster City School District's public preschool (Littlest Generals) began accepting registrations for the 2013-2014 school year. Children that will be three or four years old on or before July 31, 2013 are invited to register for the half-day preschool program.
Yearbook Lottery on Friday, May 24
Yearbooks have arrived at Edgewood! The pre-ordered yearbooks have been distributed to the students. Some yearbooks arrived with a small tear on a few pages. We will hold a lottery sale of these damaged yearbooks on Friday, May 24. To enter the lottery, please send in $15.00 cash or a check payable to Wooster City Schools with your child.
Market Day
Please help support the school. Market Day paper orders are due in the office by Friday, May 24 or online by 11 pm on Wednesday, May 29. Pick-up will be in the cafeteria on Monday, June 3th from 4:30-5:30. If you have any questions, please contact Angela Hall at 330-466-6022.
Transitioning to Edgewood: In District and Private Schools
The transition for the 4th graders has begun. Mr. Frank, Edgewood Middle School Principal, has visited all of the elementary schools to meet the fourth graders. The incoming students will complete a survey regarding their concerns and questions.
Summer Breakfast and Lunch Programs
Wooster City Schools will be offering a summer breakfast and lunch program at Cornerstone, Lincoln Way and the Wooster YMCA on Woodland Ave. The YMCA will start on 5/28-8/16/2013. Cornerstone and Lincoln Way will start on 6/3-8/9/2013. Breakfast time is 8:45-9:15am. Lunch time is 12:00-12:30pm. The program is free to all children 18 years and younger. No need to sign up!
Re-enrollment Days
Please mark your calendars for the Edgewood Middle School re-enrollment days. The days are designated by the last name of the student. Students with the last name beginning with A-L will register on August 7, and students with the last name beginning with M-Z will register on August 8. Registration will occur from 12-7 on both days.
Required for Incoming 7th Graders
An additional dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis immunization) is recommended for 11 and 12 year olds and required, by law, for all students entering 7th grade. This proof is needed at or before Fall registration!!!
People to People Ministries Back to School Project
The Back to School Project helps eligible Wayne County families get their children ready for school by providing clothing and school supplies for kids from Head Start (must be age 4 by August 1st) through high school.

Running Club is encouraged to walk the 1-Mile this Saturday!
In the fall, many Edgewood students joined the Running Club with Mrs. Montelione as the advisor. She is encouraging everyone to join her to walk 1-Mile this coming Saturday at the Sixth Annual Wooster Wellness 5K, 10K, and 1-Mile Walk/Run presented by the Wooster Young Professionals organization.
Parent Portal
A Parent Portal has been created - this is used by families to add/change/delete numbers in our outbound calling system. This was demonstrated at the last All-City PTO and went over well. Please review the flyer and/or view the Communications tab on the district web page for more information.

Volleyball Camp for Girls Entering Grades 4-6
There will be a Volleyball Camp for girls entering grades 4th through 6th on June 17 through June 20 from 10:15AM until 11:45AM at the Wooster High School gymnasuim and costs $30.00 which includes a camp t-shirt. The camp will focus on all aspects of the game.
Attention 7th and 8th Girls Volleyball Players
7th and 8th girl volleyball players, there are open gym opportunities for you to come and just play at Edgewood. There is no instruction given, but just time and opportunity to play some volleyballl with your peers.

Coach Haas, Wooster High School Varsity Football Coach, is holding a Football Camp for students entering seventh and eighth grade that focuses on the philosophy of teaching fundamental sound techniques in a game-like environment while campers have fun!
