FAQ -The New 8-12 Academic & Program Model at WHS (2012 and Beyond)
Question 1- How will the 8th Grade Class blend in with grades 9-12?

Answer- The 8th grade class will have its own wing in Wooster High School next year. The majority of the 8th grade classes will be held in this wing. However, there will be some 8th grade classes not housed in the 8th grade wing (i.e. music, physical education, enrichment classes, etc.).
2012-2013 NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION MATERIALS
Registration packets for students entering grades 5-7, and who are NEW to Wooster City Schools, are available on the district websit or from the Edgewood office. The packet of forms can be found by clicking the Forms link on the district home page or under the Students & Parents tab, clicking on Registration.
Current 4th, 5th, & 6th Graders Will Visit Edgewood in May
Edgewood has set up visitation days for the elementary students that will be attending for the 2012-2013 school year. They are as follows:
Current 4th Graders: May 16, 2012 1:55pm-3:10pm
Cross Country Camp
This is open to all students intereseted in running cross country next fall at Edgewood. Those students in 5th & 6th grade at Edgewood are welcome to attend camp as well for fun. Unfortunately when practice begins in August, it will be for only 7th/8th graders.
7th & 8th Grade Football Camp
Play Smart! Smart Hard! Wooster will hold football middle school skills camp. Check it out!
7th/8th Grade Basketball Camp
Coach Martin & his staff will hold a basketball camp from June 11-15 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at WHS for boys entering 7th & 8th grades. Please view the attached flyer & application form to register.
7th/8th grade Volleyball Camp
This camp is for girls entering 7th & 8th grade for the 2012-2013 school year.
June 11-14 at Wooster High School gym
10:00-11:30am Cost is $35.00 ( include team t-shirt)

Student Council Election Information
7th grade students interested in running for 8th grade student council can now pick up registration paperwork in room 106. Meeting to be held during exploratory on 4/24. Campaign speeches will be given on May 15th & elections will be held on May 17th.
Students of the Month
Each month, our teachers nominate outstanding students who have excelled in and out of the classroom. We select two 7th grade students and two 8th grade students. The students receives lunch with Mr.

EWMS Holds 18th Annual Geography Bee
Wooster City School District’s Edgewood Middle School held its 18th Annual Geography Bee on Dec. 20 in the upper gym of the middle school. During the competition the 19 student competitors were asked questions involving United States and world geography, geographic formations and recent geographical events.

The annual 18th Edgewood Middle School Geography Bee took place on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Edgewood's finest geographic minds took part with the ten finalists, Tatum McGrew, Colin Danch, Jessie Ballow, Jon Li, Margot Shaya, Evan Rice, Sarah Otto, Cameron Schmidt, Isabelle Cannon, & Grant Foskett, battling for the win.
