Good Morning Edgewood!

Market Day: Paper orders due 10/24

Market Day is fundraising food cooperative, providing opportunities to raise money for schools by selling food products.  Please take a look at all of the products they have to offer at https://www.marketday.com.

New York City Trip: Reservations due 10/31

Have you ever wanted to visit the Big Apple?  Here is your chance to visit New York City.  Edgewood is planning a bus trip the weekend of December 5th.  You can get more information by viewing the reservation form.

Veteran Day T-Shirts For Sale

All students are encouraged to wear this t-shirt on Veterans Day. They are sold before school from 7:45am until 8:10am. The cost is $5.00 that is donated to the Wounded Wariors Project or 10 cans of food donated to People to People

Veterans Day Luncheon on November 11, 2014

Edgewood students are encouraged to invite a veteran or an active service member for lunch with him or her on November 11, 2014. The lunch will be followed with an assembly. Please click here for more information.

Yearbooks For Sale

Wrestling: Open Mats for 7th Grade

There will open mats for those 7th graders who are interested in wrestling this winter.  The open mats will be held on November 3, 5, 10, and 12 from 6-7:30 at Edgewood.

Basketball Information for 7th Graders

There will be basketball open gyms and try-outs coming soon for our 7th Grade athletes.  Please remember that they need a sports physical completed or on file from fall sports.  The informational flyer for the boys or girls can be found here.

Academic Challenge

Academic Challenge is a great way to test students' knowledge and speed! The team has placed 3rd place at Tri-County 2014 and has competed at nationals two years in a row!

Student Council

All Edgewood students are welcome to join Student Council. They meet every Thursday morning in the library from 8:00am until 8:10am. See everyone there! 

Chess Club

Do you like to play chess?  We have a club for you.  It meets on Tusdays starting October 7th.  It is held in the High School Library at 7 pm.  Ther is more information available here.

Math 24 Club

The Math 24 Club for 5th and 6th grades will meet on Wednesdays during 7th Period.  You must have a pass to attend so please see Ms. Massaro if you interested.

Drama Club

Are you interested in Theater and Drama? Sign up for EDGEWOOD DRAMA CLUB!  The club will focus on all aspects of theater including improvisation, set design, blocking plays, scene work, stage make-up, monologues, skits and a spring production of our own!

Singing Club

Do you like to sing and perform for people?  Is so, this club is for you.  You will meet during your exploratory periods in Room 102.  They will have two performances throughout the year.  The 5th graders will meet weekly on Thursday and Friday.  The 6th graders will meet weekly on Monday and Wednesday. All students are welcome to participate.

Four Star Generals

There are students nominated each month by their teachers to be a Four Star General.  They are chosen based on leadership skills, character skills, academic achievements, and many other attributes.  You can view those students chosen at the School Newsletter at the left of the screen each month.  To view the students for October, go to the School Newletter.

City Of Wooster Edgewood Allotment Concrete Repair Project

The City of Wooster will be starting on a project to repair the concrete streets in the Edgewood Allotment neighborhood, which includes Taylor Avenue, Kinney Street, Imgard Street, McClure Street, and Mather Hill Drive.  The work is planned to start the week of Labor Day and will take about 2 months to complete.

Get Involved with the Parent-Teacher Organization

Come and get involved with Edgewood by joining the PTO and helping our school.  The meetings start at 6:30pm and are held in the school library.  Below are the meeting date.  We hope to see you there!

Boys & Girls Club After School Program

Boys & Girls Club of Wooster After School Program begins on August 25.  It is held at Edgewood Middle School from 3:15-7 pm.  The students will be provided with homework help, recreation programs, and meal/snacks.  The annual membership fee is $15. Scholarships are available.

Required for Incoming 7th Graders

An additional dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis immunization) is recommended for 11 and 12 year olds and required, by law, for all students entering 7th grade. This proof is needed at or before Fall registration!!!
