Blue Basketball Practice Canceled

The Boys Blue Basketball Team practice for today, Thursday, has been canceled.  

Spelling Bee

The Edgewood Spelling Bee was held on December 16th, 2014. The top four spellers advance to the Wayne County Spelling Bee. Congratulations go to our Co-Champions Reanna Velasquez and Clara Lee.  Also advancing are Marina Savage, and Matthew Gardener.  We wish these students the best of luck at the next level.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will begin meeting on Wednesday, January 7th from 3:15-4:30.  A permission slip is needed to attend.  An informational flyer is available here or in the office.  The calendar of meetings is available.

Lunch Charges

Do your children have outstanding lunch charges?  If so, these charges need to be paid in full by December 19, 2014.  You  may contact Sue Case at the Wooster High School Food Service at 330-345-4900 to obtain your lunch balance.  You may also check it on PayForIt.Net or by contacting any school cafeteria.  Thank you for you cooperation.

Yearbooks For Sale: ONLINE orders only

Market Day

Market Day is fundraising food cooperative, providing opportunities to raise money for schools by selling food products.  Please take a look at all of the products they have to offer at  Our deadline for paper orders is January 2 in the office, or online orders is January 7 at 11 pm.

Four Star Generals

There are students nominated each month by their teachers to be a Four Star General.  They are chosen based on leadership skills, character skills, academic achievements, and many other attributes.  You can view those students chosen at the School Newsletter at the left of the screen each month.  To view the students for December, go to the School Newletter.

Life Skills Program

The School Counselors, School Nurse, and Officer Linz (DARE) will be conducting in-house life skills programming that will address topics of concern common among middle school-aged students. The 5th grade students will receive instruction about Adolescent Growth and Development.

Drama Club

Auditions for "Dorothy in Wonderland" will be Tuesday 12/16 and Thursday 12/18 from 5:30-6:30 in Room 205.  There is no need to prepare a monologue.  Students will sign up for a half hour time slot and read from a script in small groups.  Sign ups will be available skit night.  The schedule is below to check for time committment.

Yearbook Club

All students may join Yearbook Club starting in December. Fifth graders will meet on Mondays after school from 3:15pm-4:00pm. Seventh graders will meet on Tuesday mornings from 7:30am-8:10am. Sixth graders will meet on Wednesdays after school 3:15pm-4:00pm. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Beeman at wstr_cbeeman [at] woostercityschools [dot] org. See everyone at their meeting!

Math Counts

There will be a meeting after school  Thursday, December 18, until 4:15 in Mrs. Frantz's room.  

Wrestling: Schedules for 7th Grade

Please view the schedule to see all the dates and matches for wrestling 2015.  

Practices start Nov. 17 from 3:15-5:15 in the lower gym.  Please bring running shoes and wrestling shoes.

Academic Challenge

Academic Challenge is a great way to test students' knowledge and speed! The team has placed 3rd place at Tri-County 2014 and has competed at nationals two years in a row!

Student Council

All Edgewood students are welcome to join Student Council. They meet every Thursday morning in the library from 8:00am until 8:10am. See everyone there! 

Chess Club

Do you like to play chess?  We have a club for you.  It meets on Tusdays starting October 7th.  It is held in the High School Library at 7 pm.  Ther is more information available here.

Math 24 Club

The Math 24 Club for 5th and 6th grades will meet on Wednesdays during 7th Period.  You must have a pass to attend so please see Ms. Massaro if you interested.

Singing Club

Do you like to sing and perform for people?  Is so, this club is for you.  You will meet during your exploratory periods in Room 102.  They will have two performances throughout the year.  The 5th graders will meet weekly on Thursday and Friday.  The 6th graders will meet weekly on Monday and Wednesday. All students are welcome to participate.

City Of Wooster Edgewood Allotment Concrete Repair Project

The City of Wooster will be starting on a project to repair the concrete streets in the Edgewood Allotment neighborhood, which includes Taylor Avenue, Kinney Street, Imgard Street, McClure Street, and Mather Hill Drive.  The work is planned to start the week of Labor Day and will take about 2 months to complete.

Get Involved with the Parent-Teacher Organization

Come and get involved with Edgewood by joining the PTO and helping our school.  The meetings start at 6:30pm and are held in the school library.  Below are the meeting date.  We hope to see you there!

Boys & Girls Club After School Program

Boys & Girls Club of Wooster After School Program begins on August 25.  It is held at Edgewood Middle School from 3:15-7 pm.  The students will be provided with homework help, recreation programs, and meal/snacks.  The annual membership fee is $15. Scholarships are available.

Required for Incoming 7th Graders

An additional dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis immunization) is recommended for 11 and 12 year olds and required, by law, for all students entering 7th grade. This proof is needed at or before Fall registration!!!
