Dr. Janice Gallagher

Janice Gallagher has lived in Wooster since 1973 with her husband, Anthony, and their four children.  All four children thrived in the Wooster City Schools.  They were in the band and each was deeply involved in athletics.  They performed in plays and they sang in the show choir and they exhibited their art in Scholastic Art Competitions.

Janice holds a Master’s Degree in supervision from the University of Akron.  She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University.  She also holds certification in reading and gifted. She holds a Superintendent’s License.

In the forty years she has lived in Wooster, Janice has been an active member of Wayne Artists Group Effort, and has exhibited her art at the Wayne Center for the Arts, the College of Wooster, the Gallery in the Vault, and other venues throughout Ohio.  She served on the board of the Wayne Center for the Arts, and has been an instructor, a benefactor and a volunteer.  She also volunteered at the Wayne County Historical Society, the Wooster Community Hospital, the Wooster City Schools, and Saint James Episcopal Church.

Janice taught English/Language Arts in the Barberton City Schools and in the Cloverleaf Local Schools.  She served as the Coordinator of Gifted Education at Cloverleaf.  In Euclid, Janice served as Assistant Superintendent of Schools.

This is Dr. Gallagher’s first term on the Wooster Board of Education.  She looks forward to serving the people of Wooster to assure quality education for every student.
