About our District
The Wooster City Schools serve as centers for learning and recreation for the City of Wooster.
Named one of Ohio's Best Home Towns by Ohio Magazine, Wooster is located in North Central Ohio in Wayne County.
More than 3,900 students are enrolled and attend one of the 11 educational sites in the district. The school system boasts a graduation rate of 98%. Three quarters of Wooster High School graduates enroll in post-secondary studies.
Student's academic experiences are enriched by opportunities to participate in 29 extracurricular programs and clubs and 23 interscholastic varsity sports teams. The music program provides additional co-curricular experiences. Activities are hosted in state-of-the art classrooms, a 1,000 seat performing arts center, an indoor recreation center, natatorium and an indoor ice arena.
Wooster City Schools believe that all students have "higher achievement every year". Evidence of this hard work includes the recognition of Parkview Elementary as a National Blue Ribbon School, Wooster High School as a bronze medalist by the U.S. News and World Report for being one of best high schools in the country, and Kean Elementary and Melrose Elementary as Schools of Distinction by the Ohio Department of Education.
