(May 27, 2021) – Wooster City School District is set to welcome Kevin Wolf as the new principal at Melrose Elementary beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Wolf comes to Wooster from the New Philadelphia City School District where he has served as York Elementary School Principal since 2017. He replaces Kaylee Harrell, Melrose principal since 2016, who accepted an administrative position with Strongsville City Schools, her hometown district.
A current resident of Wooster, Mr. Wolf has been with New Philadelphia Schools since 2016 and has held positions as assistant high school principal and district internship director, prior to leading York Elementary. He was instrumental in assisting the district to establish partnerships between students and local businesses for internship programming.
Wolf earned his B.S. in agriculture education from The Ohio State University and he earned his M.S. in school counseling from Butler University. Additionally, Wolf holds his principal licensure from Ashland University.
Wolf’s experience in education isn’t limited to administration. He also worked as a school counselor at Washington Township Metropolitan Schools and at Chippewa Local Schools. He was also assistant varsity football coach at Pendleton High School and North Central High School (Washington Township) and was head varsity football coach at Chippewa High School for two seasons.
Wooster City School District Superintendent Mr. Gabe Tudor said, “Wolf’s diverse experience is just one of the many qualities that made him an attractive candidate for the Melrose principal position. As we look ahead to the 2021-2022 school year, Mr. Wolf’s wealth of experience in counseling and administration will be invaluable as we transition our students back to a sense of normalcy. We are excited for Mr. Wolf to meet the students and families of Melrose. His leadership abilities and character will make him a perfect addition to the Wooster family.”
