WOOSTER, OHIO – (January 13, 2017) – Each year, Wooster City School District (WCSD) employees celebrate the United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties by participating in its annual workplace giving campaign. The workplace giving campaign supports United Way’s solutions to improve education, financial stability and health and gives employees an opportunity to donate, volunteer and speak out for causes that matter to them.
From 2015 to 2016, there was an increase of 15 percent in dollar donations and a 35 percent increase in number of WCSD employee participants. In 2016, 248 staff members pledged to give $15,826.55 to United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties.
Special thanks go out to the following WCSD United Way Ambassadors who helped reach this incredible number: Brittany Grimshaw (Cornerstone Elementary School), Anne Bowles (Kean Elementary School), Lisa Aultz (Melrose Elementary School), Abigail Frank (Parkview Elementary School), Anne Crites (Boys’ Village), Amy Sayre (Edgewood Middle School) and Dara Wood (Wooster High School).
“The results this year were incredibly energizing,” said Superintendent Dr. Michael Tefs. “Our partnership with United Way is significantly important to providing incredible opportunities for the community, especially our children. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who participated in the annual campaign that helps support United Way and the programs they serve.”
