Message From Superintendent, Dr. Michael Tefs

Re: Governor DeWine’s Executive Order: Closing School (3/16/2020 - 4/10/2020)

As I am sure you heard, Governor DeWine issued an Executive Order closing Ohio’s Pre K-12 schools for three weeks effective Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 3, 2020. Additionally, the Wooster CSD will be CLOSED on Monday, March 16, 2020 for professional development and faculty support.

The school system will maintain our scheduled spring break from April 6 - 10, 2020.  School is scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 13, 2020.

All Wooster City Schools will be CLOSED from Monday, March 16 - Friday, April 10, 2020

Directors of Education will distribute a curricular communication on Monday, March 16 explaining how faculty will deploy our Google Classroom environment for students to maintain their learning targets.

This is yet another critical moment in the growing outbreak of COVID-19 in our state. Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our students and employees and we applaud Governor DeWine for his courageous leadership. We ask for your grace and patience as we implement an online/digital curriculum.  We could never replace the face-to-face interactions of our caring faculty with their students, but are positive that we can maintain our learning targets.

Michael Tefs, Ed.D.
