(June 11, 2019) – On June 25 Mr. Adam Bracken will be recommended to the Board of Education as the new Wooster High School Athletic Director.
Bracken comes to the Wooster City School District with 17 years of experience in the field of education and athletics. He began his career as a math teacher and boys soccer coach at Ashland High School, later moving into the role of athletic director at Hillsdale High School in Jeromesville, Ohio. Most recently, Bracken held the positions of assistant athletic director and compliance coordinator at Ashland University.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity presented with the Wooster City School District, and I hope to build upon the strong Athletic department foundation set by the likes of Chuck Cooper, Brad Warner, and Andy Kellar,” said Bracken, “Our student-athletes will not only be competitive in the classroom and on the playing surface, but they will also learn the value of actively contributing to the Wooster community.”
Bracken holds a bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Mount Union, a master’s degree in educational administration from Ashland University and a master’s degree in sports management from Tiffin University. His experience as athletic director and his involvement with collegiate and high school sports teams make him qualified to broadly examine the needs of Wooster City Schools’ athletic programs and make them even more successful in the future.
Bracken’s extensive experience coupled with his passion for providing successful academic and athletic programs for students make him an ideal athletic director for Wooster. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that Adam will have on our students and the community.
“The opportunity for my family to live in this community and my daughters to attend a district that aims to inspire world-class academic achievement is very exciting. I would like to thank Dr. Tefs and the search committee for their support throughout this process,” said Bracken.
Please join us in welcoming Adam Bracken to Wooster.
