Michael S. Steiner is a native of Wooster, graduate of Wooster High School, and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wittenberg University.
Michael followed in his father's footsteps and pursued a career as a property-casualty insurance agent, serving as an owner of both Whitaker-Myers Insurance Agency and later, Steiner Insurance Agency. During his tenure he earned three professional designations (Charter Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor, and Certified Risk Manager), served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Ohio, and was awarded the prestigious "Paul Revere" trophy as its outstanding agent in 1988. Mr. Steiner has also served on bank boards, most recently joining the newly constituted board of Premier Bank and Trust.
Civically, Michael has been very active in the Wooster community having served as President of Wooster Rotary, President of Junior Achievement of Wayne County, Chair of the United Way Campaign, Chair of the Counseling Center, and President of the Wayne Center for the Arts. He has also volunteered in a number of capacities for the schools, most notably as co-chair of the Shape Their Future campaign to build the new high school and chair of a subsequent levy effort as well as being the founding chair of the Business Advisory Council.
Mike and his wife Pam reside in Wooster. Their four children, all graduates of Wooster High School, are currently living in other states.
