Jim was raised in Solon, Ohio the oldest of six children. After graduating from Solon City Schools Jim attended Kent State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Jim’s professional career includes 18 years with the Frito-Lay Corporation and is currently with Brewster Dairy, Inc. of Brewster, Ohio as the Director of Operations.

Jim and his wife Mindy have lived in Wooster since 1995 and have four sons who have or are attending Wooster City Schools.

Jim and his wife first began volunteering in the Wooster City Schools through their involvement in PTO activities and events. Jim eventually participated in the Business Advisory Council through his role on the Strategic Planning Committee. Through this committee Jim helped develop the framework for the districts' scorecard approach to performance improvement. 

Jim enjoys spending time with his family and being actively involved in his children’s lives. 

Jim was first elected to the board in 2005 and is currently serving his second term. Jim has held the role of Vice President of the Board and on July 17, 2010 was elected Board President.
